What I’m creating is something different. Alec Torelli NFTs instead is both a way to support my work and team and also to gain access to me.

Update 11/2023: OpenSea no longer allows NFTs to be published to old collections. I therefore had to make a new collection, which is here.

I originally had this vision several years ago, to have each piece of content I produce come with a unique NFT that represented the idea behind my work. I tested this with my first piece, What Is Money?

I found an awesome undiscovered artist, explained the idea behind my article and had him create a 1/1 NFT. We named it “Spending Time”.

While I loved this process - in particular supporting artists - it took me longer to work on the NFT than it did on creating my work. I’m already at full capacity playing poker, running a business, investing, coaching, staying healthy, being a husband, and creating content, so something had to give.

Although it hurt, I scrapped the idea and opted for traditional thumbnails. Now, for the first time ever, technology exists to make this dream of encapsulating the idea behind my work with art a reality. Here’s how it works.

I begin by creating a piece of long-form content that shares what is hopefully a unique idea or take on markets, the world, or life.

I share that article on my substack and social media. My work will always be free, as my mission is to help as many people as possible.

I then create an image using MidJourney, an AI which allows me to enter a prompt - the title of my piece - and then the AI creates a unique image based on it.

I go back and forth with the AI creating variations until I feel the image best encapsulates the idea of my work.

I mint that as a 1/1 unique NFT, which is then available for you to purchase. This allows you to own a part of my work, the NFT which captures the idea I shared.

NFT Features and Utility

Alec Torelli NFTs are not merely collectibles, they also support my work. Each piece of content takes ~10 hours to create, and I support several people during the process, from my graphic designer and video editor to my VA and research assistant.

I’m not selling anything, and am happy to run things at a loss because I love what I do, live with abundance, and my mission is to help others, but know that any purchase is going toward my team to support them and improve the quality of my work.

The NFTs also have utility. Each NFT grants the owner a 30 min call with me to discuss the idea of the article, or anything on their mind.

This time is yours.

I can help with poker strategy, crypto, decision-making, risk management, building a balanced life with freedom, and synthesizing my world view on investing and markets. I cannot give financial advice, but I can tell you what I'm betting on, and why.

Once the utility of the NFT is used, it cannot be used again, but the collectible is yours to keep forever.

How to Redeem Your NFT

Again, this NFT is not a financial instrument, and do not expect to profit from it. The utility can only be redeemed once. You’ll know if the utility has been redeemed because you can see who the owner of the NFT is on OpenSea. If AlecTorelli is the owner, the utility has not been redeemed.

If the owner is someone else, it means the NFT has been purchased and it is likely been redeemed. It is possible to transfer the utility or buy this as a gift, so I will update the status of the NFT on the respective post at the top.

For example, you will see the header image with a description in italics. Underneath I will write 'Status: Unused’ or ‘Status: Redeemed’.

To redeem your 30 min call with me, simply screenshot the confirmation of purchase and email cryptorelli@gmail.com with the subject line ‘NFT Title + NFT Purchase’ and I’ll respond to you with a link to my calendar.

For example, if you bought the NFT of my original post “What Is Money” you’d email cryptorelli@gmail.com with the subject line “What Is Money NFT Purchase” and attach the screenshot of your buy order.

I then selected V2 and V3 and prompted the AI to create variations. Here’s the planet.
