Play Poker. Win Blue Chip NFTs.
An overview of the first of its kind NFT poker site, CryptoCorn.
A few months ago, I received a DM on Twitter asking me to collaborate on a poker NFT project. I was immediately skeptical, as most of the NFT projects that launch are scams and cash grabs, but I told them to send me the site and I’d take a look.
Their art was amazing, the team was doxxed, and it was clear they were passionate about developing something of value for the community, so we hopped on a call.
They pitched me the idea: 10 decks of 52 cards (520 total), each one with the opportunity to win a different currency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Matic, etc.). We got to brainstorming, and it was clear we clicked right away, but something was off.
I could see that Adam and Jason were passionate about NFTs, and wanted to support awesome projects and upcoming artists.
Then, the spark came. What if we sold an NFT for a onetime purchase that gave holders the opportunity to play for the best NFTs in the world?
Not only would it be the first of its kind, but we could bridge the gap between poker players and crypto enthusiasts, creating a unique community that doesn’t exist anywhere on earth.
We could also provide additional value to our community by helping them find the best undiscovered and upcoming NFT projects. It was a bold idea, but we decided to build together. And today, I’m proud to announce the time has come for launch!
Why Are Poker NFTs Unique?
Traditional online poker is played for cash prizes. This leads to a community of cut throat professionals who optimize to exploit every edge.
Our goal was to build something different, a community of NFT enthusiasts who come together through the great game of poker, and wanted to support the NFT ecosystem at large.
Similar to how a country club membership is both valuable because of the access one has to play golf, but also to the network of interesting, like-minded people they can meet while golfing, CryptoCorn is creating a duel purpose poker experience for poker and NFT enthusiasts alike.
What is an NFT?
NFTs stand for non-fungible tokens and are often referred to as digital assets. Fungible means that one unit can be interchanged with another. A $1 bill is fungible because all $1 bills are the same. Your car however is non fungible because your Ford Explorer is different than someone else’s.
The most common form of NFTs are digital art. Just like real art, some of these are worth a lot of money. The cheapest (floor priced) Bored Ape Yacht Club for example is currently worth more than 100 ETH, or $250,000.
If you’re new to NFTs, learn more about them here before reading on.
If you’re new here, my name is Alec Torelli and I’ve spent thousands of hours in crypto, DeFi, NFTs and play to earn gaming. How Does Crypto Corn Work?
CryptoCorn is simple. Purchase a CryptoCorn NFT (mint date April, 2022, price TBD) and compete in poker tournaments using our dAPP to win blue chip NFTs, such as Bored Ape Yacht Club, VeeFriends and Cool Cats.
We’ve effectively flipped the script. Instead of building a poker site where poker players can win cash prizes, we’ve built one where poker and NFT enthusiasts alike can learn about and win the best NFTs in the world.
There are 520 ‘OG’ CryptoCorn NFTs, with 52 cards in each of the 10 decks. A rare “Power Deck” will grant lucky holders free ‘airdrops’ of NFTs simply for holding.
Depending on the rank of the card you hold, you will either get 1, 2 or 3 free NFTs per month.
Dedicated ‘Crypto Angels’ scour the industry for the best upcoming NFT projects, with a focus on utility, such as my personal favorite ‘Play to Earn’ games.
This ensures our community members are getting additional alpha just by holding, as they’ll not only receive free airdrops, but potentially be made aware of up and coming NFTs before they hit the market.
Personally, I spend hours each week sorting through mediocre projects to find one hidden gem. Crypto Angels do the heavy lifting for us, and only bring us the best, vetted projects.
Massive Poker NFT Utility
Those who mint a CryptoCorn will get access to our complete suite of products. This includes access to the entire Season 1 of our poker tournaments (see the full schedule here). Hundreds of ETH will be up for grabs in prizes.
Bonuses will be given to those who mint a CryptoCorn. This includes access to additional NFTs, tournaments, and the option to rebuy.
For every CryptoCorn NFT you mint, you’ll get access to 2 x Golden Kernel NFTs which give you access to the Krazy Kernel tournament (a 0.1 ETH value). You’ll also get 4 ‘Ember’ NFTs which grant you the ability to rebuy in a tournament of your choosing.
This additional value alone comes out to 0.365 ETH. The CryptoCorn NFTs launch in late April, and play begins on April 30th.
Welcoming All Poker NFT Enthusiasts
Naturally, the CryptoCorn NFTs will be our premier NFT, where participants pay a premium to mint to compete for blue chips. Nevertheless, one of our missions it to build a community that’s accessible to everyone to connect as many like minded people as possible from all over the world.
We’ve launched our CryptoCups for this purpose. Starting at 0.025 ETH, and minting on Polygon (with virtually no gas fees), these low cost NFTs allow anyone to participate in our ecosystem.
CryptoCup holders can still play in tournaments to win NFTs, as well as the chance to win a CryptoCup Elite, which gets you into the weekend CryptoCorn tournament. Think of a CryptoCup as a hybrid between a smaller stakes tournament and a satellite. Scroll down to Page 2 here to see our schedule.
There are a total of 5,000 CryptoCup NFTs.
For every 1,000 that are minted, the price increases, thereby rewarding those who mint early. In addition, you’ll have the option to mint 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 NFTs. If you mint 6, you’ll only pay for 5.
Plus you’ll get a free item from our ‘Loot Chest’, which includes free mints, Embers, Krazy Kernels and a free lifetime Conscious Poker Membership.
The CryptoCup NFTs launch February 25th. Those who mint (buy at launch) will also be able to participate in our beta testing.
Tag me on Discord @AlecTorelli and say ‘hi. I’m active in the community.
Crypto Corn x Conscious Poker Collaboration
I’m proud to be the first sponsored poker pro at CryptoCorn. I’ve partnered with them because I love what they’re doing and believe they have a great, high value product to offer.
Scattered throughout the 10 decks will be a special Conscious Poker logo, which grants holders free lifetime access to the Conscious Poker Membership.
With 5 courses meant to build your poker game from the ground up, hundreds of videos and recording of my private coaching sessions, this CP Membership alone is a $700 value.
In addition, I’ll also have a bounty on my head in the tournaments I play, which means if you bust me out you can win a free Membership too!
Those in the NFT community know that OpenSea has its fair share of problems, including downtime and fake projects, which leads to community members being scammed.
At CryptoCorn, we’ve built our own unique Marketplace to protect our community and make it cheaper and more efficient for people to mint, buy and trade NFTs.
Instead of paying a 2.5% commission to OpenSea for every NFT that’s sold, we’ll save you that tax, and put some of that money back into future prize pools.
We have some amazing features being rolled out in the future to improve our poker ecosystem, such as a VR Movie Theatre. We’ll have both a general admission (for Crypto Cup holders) and a VIP area (for Crypto Corn holders).
Come hang out, watch live poker games and see what new NFTs our Crypto Angels have featured on the walls. It’s a great way to meet like minded people and discover new alpha NFT projects.
Second, we plan on building an ‘Appetizer Menu’. Before our holders play in a tournament, they will be presented with a menu of upcoming, undiscovered NFTs. They can review the projects and select their favorites. They’ll then win free whitelist spots or NFTs for playing in the tournaments.
Finally, we intend to allow anyone to play on our poker app in the future. This will allow people to create their own tournaments, invite their friends, and giveaway NFTs of their choosing as a prize.
Imagine an influencer with a wide audience who wants to connect with them through poker, and offer them free value. They can create a tournament for their most loyal 100 fans, and giveaway unique NFTs to everyone who makes the final table.
I hope you enjoyed this overview of CryptoCorn, and can now appreciate why I’m so excited to be a part of this brand new project that’s bridging poker and NFTs.

If you have questions, leave them in a comment. I’ll be taking the best ones and asking them in an interview to both Adam and Jason for an upcoming piece of content.
